About Us
We are a family of artists and engineers who recently arrived in Elizabeth City aboard our sailboat. The reception we received in Elizabeth City was unparalleled and we immediately knew we wanted to stop short our sailing cruise of the past several years and spend some time in a community on land where we could become a part and participate in a meaningful way.

We spent 2009 and 2010 sailing the Bahamas and the East Coast of the United States from Charleston to Elizabeth City, so when we landed in in 2010 and decided to settle here, a new adventure was just around the corner!
Serenity Studio Arts was imagined and accomplished with the help of many of our wonderful new friends in Elizabeth City, and let's face it, who have we run into in this wonderful town who has not immediately become counted amongst our friends? From the woman who set up our bank account to the man who mailed our letters at the post office, the people of Elizabeth City have all been kind and generous, offering their help, advice, and friendship. We thought this the perfect place for us to set up our all-time dream of having a shared art studio where artists could create and learn in a powerhouse of creative energy and inspiration.
